Happy 1st Birthday Eonan!

Eonan is now one year old! (well he will be tomorrow) We had a little party with family today. Nana, Granda, Nana. Michelle, Untie Sharon, Tiernan, Coinneach, Mummy and Daddy all celebrated with yummy food. Mummy and Daddy also baked a lion cake for the party. Take a look at the pictures and see how much fun we had. We cannot believe it has been a whole year since Eoji-Pie entered the world - Happy Birthday Wee Man, X

Nick Nairn

Sarah, Eonan and I drove down to Port of Menteith last week so that Sarah could attend a Nick Nairn cooking class. Unfortunately Nick Nairn was unavailable for this class, but the non-celebrity chef was superb according to Sarah.

Everyone really enjoyed the trip and I got to look after Eonan for a whole day on my own. He was really well behaved and he especially enjoyed Blair Drummond Safari park.

Adobe LightRoom

Doug at my work let me know about an unbelievably cool tool created by Adobe called LightRoom. LightRoom is a tool designed to help phoographers manage and develop large volumes of photographs. It is amazing what you can accomplish with very little training or understanding what is going on behind the scenes. Tell a lie...Doug did give me a 5 minute introduction to the plethora of keyboard shortcuts. I think that is one factor that makes it such an effective tool - the fact that you can develop a photograph via a few keyboad shortcuts.

The image directly below has been cropped from a larger image and had an antique light preset applied to it. Those of you with a sharp eye will also notice the absence of his chin scratch and mole. LightRoom has a fantasic "Heal" feaure that enables you to remove dust spots from a photograph (apparently the bane of all phorographers). I always wondered how they airbrushed supermodels!

Bonfire night at the beach

Like many of you, we decided to attend the Council run fireworks display at the beach this evening. It's kinda become a bit of an annual event for us which we always thoroughly enjoy. However, poor Coinneach has inherited Tiernan's mortal fear of all things explosive - especially fireworks! He spend most of the evening hudled into our arms screaming his head off. Ahh, what fun. As you can see from the picture below, he developed an interesting technique for blocking out all light and sound. He is a total woosey given his little brother Eonan enjoyed the fireworks display immensely.

Trip to Doonies Farm

This is my bread, don't even think about taking it from me". Coinenach was very keen on feeding the ducks and he did such a good job. By the end of the day, we managed to get through 1 and a half loaves of bread!

Coinneach was quite taken with the pigs - especially this Tamworth pig. I sent this pitcure to the BBS New website in the hope they include it in their weekly "Pictures depicting life around Scoland" article. We'll see.

New camera that takes good pitcures

Right, we were so sick and tired of tolerating mediocre images from our old digital camera that we decided to buy a spangly new one - a Canon EOS 400D SLR. It is a fantastic camera that takes amazing pitcures. No more waiting 3 days for it to take a picture that comes out underexposed and all blurred. You get instantaneous shots that come out crystal clear. Even I can take good pictures with this camera. Just to prove it, I've included a selection below:

Its Halloween and we have been having fun. We had a little party tonight with Nana Joan, Granda Ian, Nana Banana, Michelle, Mummy and Daddy. Tiernan was dressed as a ghost pirate and Coinneach and Eonan were both skeletons, scary. We bob-ed for apples, ate donuts hanging from a string without using our hands (although Coinneach cheated and used his!), we ate spooky food and jumped around until 9 o'clock (on a school night!) Oh yeah and Tiernan went out 'trick ot treating' for the first time and brought back a HUGE bucket of sweets, yum yum. Here are some pictures we took. They are a bit blured as they are action shots! 4 Months old Today

Hello all, Eonan is 4 months old today! He is nearly sitting up all by himself and is still a happy chap. Well apart from at night when he likes to wake up every 2 hours. He will be moving into his own room when we move to the new house at the end of November. House is coming on now. Just the kitchen and bathrooms to put in and the finishing touches. I hope they get a move on as I am itching to move now. We have got all our new appliances and furniture, just need a house to put it in. Tiernan is really looking forward to moving as it will mean he can get the bus to school. Also it will mean that it is nearer to christmas and santa will be packing up ready for his deliveries. We have told santa the new address so the house better be ready or he might not deliver Coinneach, Tiernan and Eonans presents! sarah and the boys xx

Well according to our insider sources our house should be ready to move into the first week in November. Tiernan's Birthday Bash

Well today Tiernan had his 8th Birthday Party at Sunset Boulevard. The bowling action was superb and we all enjoyed the party. Food was eaten and candles were bown out and then we all went home in the pouring rain! It was a lot different than his last birthday parties in the back garden with the bouncy castle...and the SUN! New School

Today Tiernan started his new school. We will not be moving into the new house until October but we thought it best he start the new term at the new school. Tiernan said he was a little nervous in the morning but as he had already met his teacher yesterday and had a tour of his new classroom, he went off quite happily. When we picked him up at 3.20pm he was all smiles. He said they only had to do two pieces of work today and didn’t get any homework! I cannot believe my baby is in P4, they grow up far too quick. Bouncing Around

Over the last few day days Eonan has been enjoying the joys of the door bouncer! He is a little young for it but he is so big and strong that he is more than able. He loves to stand up and therefor loves this! While he was 'bouncing' tonight Tiernan and Coinneach thought he looked so cute they just had to kiss and hug him. Then they went for the 'three man hug'!!

Home Alone!

Well Graeme and Tiernan are away to Alton Towers and Im home with the babies. Its actually been not bad so far. Yesterday my mum visited and at night I watched chick flicks till my heart was content! Today we went to our usual Thursday morning group, the Coinneach and I went swimming this afternoon. We had loads of fun with Coinneachs new woggle! Tonight I am planning somemore DVD watching... New Bed

Today my Daddy made me a new bed. Its really big and has a lot more space than my basket! Immunisations...

Today Eonan had the first of his routine immunisations. He was a brave boy and only cried a little. He had his 8 week assessment with the Dr too and passed with flying colours! He now weighs 14lbs 9oz (or 6.6kg if you prefer) and is 62cm long. He is a big boy, on the 98th centile for height and weight!! Schlumberger Family Fun Day

Yesterday we went to a family fun day with Auntie Sharon and Uncle Lynchie. There was a bouncy castle, a bouncy assault course, a bucking bronco, a climbing frame, archery, quad bikes; it’s a knock out, clay pigeon shooting and loads of free food and drink - yum! The bouncy assault course was our favourite thing but the bucking bronco and it’s a knock out were Daddy and Lynchie favourite. They hit each other really hard! Mummy liked the shooting as she beat all the boys by miles!!! It was really sunny and warm so when we got home we all sat in the garden. Bye now, Tiernan, Coinneach and Eonan xxx

Fruit Farm

Today we took the boys to the Fruit Farm near Montrose. We had a really wonderful day. The boys helped us pick some raspberries, strawberries, brambles, gooseberries, blueberries and blackcurrents. There are going to be many fruit puddings after dinner this week! We had lunch at the cafe there, which was yummy. The the boys went to play in the park. There were climbing frames, ride on tractors, go carts, bales, trampoloines, slides, a sandpit and more. Great, great fun and yummy yummy fruit. Sarah and Graeme

Well it was Tiernan's very last day at his primary school, where he has been for the last 3 years. He was very sad to leave his friends who gave him a HUGE leaving card and a present. He even got a hug from his teacher Mrs McWilliam! He will be starting the new school term at his new school. Our new house will not be finished until the send of September so I will have to drive him to school for a couple of months. Then he will get the school bus when we are moved in. Daddy at home

Happy Christmas to you all out there! We have had a wonderful day today. Well our baby is two years old today! He is such a big boy now. He loves 'Spong Bob Square Pants', 'Power Rangers' and all manner of things that he should'ne be interested in for a few years. Today we had a party of sorts, Jack and Martha came round to play, there were balloons and pass the parcel, as well as cake! For his birthday he mostly got brio trains and more track for his collection, which is now very large but he loves it. He loves building up the track and then pushing the trains round and round! The wedding and that cake!

Sarah wanted me to post a couple of couple of pictures from her sister's wedding. The first is of her remarkable cake that she baked. I'll need to ask Sarah about the specifics but I think one was fruit, one chocolate and the other a sponge cake. All were made by Sarah's own hands! Apparently there was not a smidgen left! The other picture is of the royal grumpster himself. Ohhh was it fun trying to dress him on the wedding day. It was a bit like trying to dress an eel on a rainy day that had smeared itself with copious amounts of lard. In no way am I implying that Coinneach is like a slippery eel.

Do you like our tree?

We fulfilled our yearly tradition: the purchase of an oversized tree from Tyrebagger forest. They are great value, eco-friendly coming from replenishable stock and it is great fun picking the perfect tree. Tiernan and Coinneach enjoyed a yummy hot dog whilst Sarah devoured her precious venison burger which was completely for the baby's benefit :-) Here are a couple of snapshots of the boys. Coinneach always manages to smile after we have taken the picture.

Happy and spooky Halloween

Another year and another attempt to get that damn apple out of the bowl. This year I did prevail and landed myself a beauty of a Braeburn. It was darn tasty!!

Coinneach really enjoyed Halloween this year becsuse last year he was completely oblivious to what was going on. He also absolutely hated that pumkin outfit we forced him to wear. Alas he may be too big next year to wear it again. A shame because Sarah enjoy putting tights on him!

Tiernan as always went straight for the items covered in sugar and promptly discarded the apple. A good 20 lashes should cure that problem.

7 years old

Arghhhhh, pieces of 8 and all that malarkey. Tiernan has just celebrated his 7th birthday. My goodness, he is growing up so quickly. Given the recent hubbub about Pirates of the Caribbean, Tiernan decide he would love to have a pirate themed birthday party. So we did. Everyone came dressed as firece some pirates or pretty Elizabeth Swans (without the anorexia). Tiernan originally wanted a cake shaped like a pirate ship, but we concluded it would be pretty impossible and most likely really expense to get a cake shaped like a boat. So we opted for a photo cake from Asda. They're great. Just take an A4 sized photograph to Asda and for the motley sum of £20 you get a cake suitable for a bunch of blood thirsty pirates. All in all everyone really enjoyed themselves. It was a day to remember. Thanks, Sarah and Graeme

Hi, Wanted to post and update you all on our wee man. He is well on his way to walking and can move from one piece of furniture to another by letting go and taking a step or so to grab onto the next bit. He even took a few brave steps towards daddy last night but fell into a crumpled heap on the floor! He can say ta but his new games is to hold out a toy to you, wait till you say ta, snatch it back, say ta and giggle like mad! He still enjoys clapping his hands, waving bye bye and paying peek-a-boo which he has been doing for a few months but no new games apart from those. We will write again soon, Sarah xxxxx

Tiernan's stay in hospital

Hello, Tiernan has just spent the last few days in A&E after a prolonged bout of sickness. It all started over a week ago when Tiernan was sick towards the later part of the day. This continued for several days and, naturally, we shipped him off to A&E for a quick diagnosis. Everyone at the hospital - junior and senior doctors - was all completely stumped as to the cause. It was eventually diagnosed as abdominal migraine after 2 days in hospital. Tiernan really, really enjoyed it and did not want to leave; strange, after having needles inserted into his hand, being poked and prodded by an army of doctors and vomiting into little bowler hats. He is definitely a brave little boy! :-) He is doing well now and there have been no relapses (fingers crossed) Bye, Graeme & Sarah

Hi all, Was looking at the blog and thought there was a lack of pictures that included me (I never like having my picture taken and this may be why!) I have decided to include one here just incase you think I have actually disappeared and Graeme is now on his own with the boys! As you can see Coinneach is still loving yummy mummy milk. He is really enjoying the fact he can crawl really fast, stand up and move around using the furniture. He is very proud when he lets go and can stand unaided for a few seconds and has mastered landing on his bottom to minimise impact! Not much new to report so ill be off, Sarah x

Hello everyone, Coinenach has started crawling. The little devil is so efficient already he can crawl from one end of the dining room to the other. Sarah and Tiernan got a fright the other day when they couldn't find Coinneach. Unbeknownst to them he had crawled underneath the dining room table and was hiding! Clever little fellow. He's already mastered hide-and-seek at 6 1/2 months. Here are a couple of pics of the master crawler in action...

Hello everyone, It was about time we introduced the wee man to the delights of food. So we did. His first ever dinner was some utterly disgusting baby rice thatc losely resembled wallpaper paste and some banana. All went well apart from the numerous choking incidents that resulted in Sarah and myself vigoursly slapping Coinneach on the back. For some strange reason that seemed to upset him. Coinneach has decided that he does not like this mushy stuff we keep trying to give him and has gone straight onto 'real' food he can pick up and eat himself: fish, chicken, pork, potato, carrots, broccoli, cabbage, pear, banana, melon, mango, bread, rice...you name it he'll eat it (only not mushed up!)

My goodness, Coineach has been alive for an entire 6 months now. So to celebrate we shipped everyone in the car and headed up to Haddo House on a scorcher of a day. We all enjoyed Coinneach's delicious organic apple birthday cake. Yum.

Mummy and daddy bought me new toys to play with. I'm glad they did because I'm sure sick of playing with stupid teddy bears and soft mice. They make me smile :-)

Since Coinneach is now capable of sitting on his own unaided, we decide to buy a bath seat. These things are cool because our arms were dying after holding him for 10 minutes in the bath. Here are a couple of pictures of Coinneach sitting up. He's been sitting up for the past week and a half, but we never got round to taking pictures of him!

I was quite amazed at how quickly he started sitting up. Not so long ago he was totally disinterested in sitting and then all of a sudden he just started doing it.

He didn't managed to break his brothers record unfortunately. Tiernan was sitting up 3 weeks ago. He must have inherited my laziness :-)

Karen - this is the first time he has worn his New Zealand outfit! It looks great.

Coinneach sucking his thumb. Awwww... This picture was actually taken ages ago (can't remember the exact date however). He actually started sucking his thumb one minute after he appeared in this world. I remember him snuggled into my arms just minutes after he was born quite contentedly sucking his tiny thumb. Then he started crying. He was probably wondering what that hairy beast was holding him :-)
